How to Avoid Fake Job Offers for the Gulf

5 October 2026 · 1 min read · By Indus Promoters Team

Every year, many job seekers lose money to fake overseas job offers. A little checking before you commit can protect your savings and your family.

Warning signs

  • Offers that arrive only through social media or messaging apps, with no office you can visit.
  • Requests for large payments before any interview, trade test or written offer.
  • Promises of unusually high salaries for little experience.
  • Pressure to decide today, or a refusal to give you a written contract.

What to check first

Ask the agency for its Overseas Employment Promoter licence number and confirm it with the official government authority. Visit the office in person, and ask for the employer's name, the job title, the salary and the contract terms in writing.

Protect yourself

Never share your original documents with anyone you have not verified, and always keep a receipt for any payment that is officially required. If something feels wrong, stop and ask questions. A genuine recruiter will be happy to answer them.
